Desmond Ridder QB (Cincinnati) 6'3" 211

Combine: 4.52s 40, 36"vert

Strengths: Pocket poise with easy slide away from pressure points. Quick to process what the defense shows him. Patient in allowing routes to mature & uncover. Mobility to elude pressure and reset launch point outside the pocket. Operates from a well-balanced platform. Changes speeds and alters touch underneath. Speed to turn a scramble into a chunk play. 

Weaknesses: Deep balls have a tendency to come up short. Average arm strength for tight-window throws. Struggles in throwing WRs open. Inconsistent accuracy on intermediate throws. Rarely gets all the way through his progressions. Below-average placement & velocity for pro throws. Peels back and over the top of the pocket, leading to sacks.

Strengths: Ability to tilt coverage with his press release. Creates space with route leverage. Quick to snap his eyes to the QB after his break. Squares to the throw and secures the catch through contact. 

Weaknesses: Below-average special teams value. Needs to manipulate defenders without losing route momentum. Modest burst to separate coming out of breaks. Routes require more crisp angles to prevent undercuts. Average acceleration for run after the catch.

Score: 6.19 (Good backup with the potential to develop as a starter) Next Gen: 77 (Good)

Max Mitchell OT (Louisiana) 6'6" 307













2021: 3rd AP All-American, 1st All-Sun Belt

Combine: 5.32s 40, 25"vert

Strengths: Hustles to get his feet and hips into position to help seal off the run lane. Plays with controlled short-area movement as a run blocker. Consistent strain & hustle to stay connected to the block. Plenty of slide quickness to meet speed off the edge. Twitchy, crisp punch lands with good timing & authority. Athletic and pesky to stay in the rusher's face when mirroring.

Weaknesses: Can improve at bringing his feet with him through the run block. Needs to keep his feet moving and engaged at the top of the rush. Inconsistent to cinch up and control attackers with his hands. Lacks consistent calm during mirror & scramble situations.

Score: 6.20 (Will eventually be an average starter) Next Gen: 75 (Good)

Strengths: Plays fast from the snap to the whistle. Displays foot quickness for take-off versus the press. Leverages defenders' hips before cutting the opposite way. Maintains acceleration through the route stem. Effective separation talent in linear route tree. 

Weaknesses: Lacks deep bend for sudden sink & stop. Needs excess steps into the top of the break point. Occasionally mistimes leaps to the throw. Catch focus is below-average.

Score: 6.21 (Will eventually be an average starter) Next Gen: 75 (Good)

Zion Johnson OG (Boston College) 6'3" 312










2021: 1st All-American, 1st All-ACC

Combine: 5.18s 40, 32 reps, 32"vert

Strengths: Operates with consistently wide, stout base. Shines as a double-team blocker with technical savvy. Excellent leverage & lift into initial strike. Consistent latch, sustain and push as a block finisher. Takes accurate cut-off angles to LBs. Natural pop in phone-pole punch. 

Weaknesses: Inconsistent gaining enough ground on stretch plays. Occasional issues with twists & blitzes. Below-average redirection quickness. Punch will land a little high and slide off pads. Slow in resetting & regrouping hands.

Score: 6.34 (Will eventually be a plus starter) Next Gen: 88 (Good)

Tyquan Thronton WR (Baylor) 6'2" 181










2021: 2nd All-BIG 12, 62rec/948yds 10TDs

Combine: 4.28s 40, 36.5"vert

Strengths: Play speed sets up easy slants & hitch throws. Short-area foot quickness for a taller WR. Poised and ready on 50/50 deep-sideline shots. Sticky hands with plus catch radius. Instinctive in space with feel for zone bodies. Above-average feel for footwork near the boundaries. 

Weaknesses: Linear release gets redirected & slowed. Entire route tree is not available to him. Slow to sink, break & change direction in his patterns. Needs to stack defenders when he gets them beat. Could struggle to hang on through contact.

Score: 5.97 (Average backup or Special Teamer) Next Gen: 69 (Average)

Leo Chenal LB (Wisconsin) 6'3" 250

Strengths: Booming punch drives blockers off their base. Base strength to sit and leverage the run gap. Relentless with unusual recovery balance to make unexpected tackles. Plows through A-gaps & RBs as a blitzer. Tremendous stopping power as a tackler. 

Weaknesses: Tightly bound with limited lateral agility. Lacks speed  & explosive burst in pursuit. Lacks desired instincts & discipline navigating through traffic. Fooled by misdirection and misses cut-back development. Below-average coverage option in man or zone on passing downs.

Score: 6.14 (A good backup with potential to develop as a starter) Next Gen: 82 (Good)

Devonte Wyatt DT (Georgia) 6'3" 304

Strengths: Lateral quickness beats move-blocker to the spot. Locates ball-carriers quickly when two-gapping. Hustles around the field looking to make a play. Shows urgency in locating a pass blocker's edge. Above-average change of direction inside the pocket.

Weaknesses: Tendency to drop his helmet into initial contact. Average hand usage & shed quickness. Rush energy bogs down when stiff punch finds him. Doesn't have go-to moves for quick-rush wins.

Score: 6.35 (Will eventually be a plus starter) Next Gen: 77 (Good)

Cade Mays OG (Tennessee) 6'5" 311










Combine: 5.24s 40, 26"vert

Strengths: Experience at all 5 OL positions. Upper-body power & hand pop into contact. Patient lateral movement up to moving targets. Quick press & extend in pass punch.

Weaknesses: Lacks technique on double teams and down blocks. Athletic defenders take advantage of his forward lean. Pass protection can be too straight-legged. Needs to punch with faster, more efficient hands.

Score: 5.95 (Will be an average backup or special teamer) Next Gen: 67 (Average)

Bernhard Raimann OT (Central Michigan) 6'6" 303

Combine: 5.05s 40, 30reps, 30.5"vert

Strengths: A former TE with enticing moving talent. Can fly up to challenging 2nd level cutoffs. Keeps his feet connected with his pads. Natural quickness to set out to NFL edge speed as a pro. Pass slides are well-balanced & consistent. Stalls inside moves with hip torque & rare recovery twitch. Sinks in his hands and mirrors rusher through the whistle.

Weaknesses: Hands cradle rather than crush in tight quarters. Pass sets are mechanical & predictable. Outside hands lacks firmness, softening his edge. Doesn't fit up run blocks with much authority. Average at finding positioning in the run game. Narrow drive base limits push power.

Score: 6.39 (Will eventually be a plus starter) Next Gen: 78 (Good)

Zakoby McClain LB (Auburn) 5'11" 228

Combine: 4.69s 40, 33"vert

Strengths: Uses slick skip-step for sudden lateral slides. Takes instinctive angles to the ball inside the box. Explodes into blockers and plays off them quickly. Low center of gravity & strong base help him leverage his gap. Drops with good awareness of incoming routes from zone. Possess core Special Teams talent.

Weaknesses: Lacks desired take-off for tracking down backs. Lateral tackle agility in the open field is just average. Slow to gain proper depth against play-action fakes. Short-strider with below average recovery in coverage.

Score: 6.00 (Traits and talent for an above-average backup) Next Gen: 59 (Below Average)

Strengths: Punches & posts through release phase. Accelerates from opening to stay connected to the route. Recognizes play development & alters assignment accordingly. Creates very cluttered workspace on contested catches. Attacks passing lanes from off-coverage with burst & stride. 

Weaknesses: Unnecessary disregard for technique. Grabs & holds when pattern matching goes awry. Footwork needs to become a priority. Inconsistent coming to balance in pursuit. Catch-and-drag tackler.

Score: 6.72 (Year 1 Starter) Next Gen: 93 (Elite)

Comp: Richard Sherman




Cam Taylor-Britt CB (Nebraska) 5'11" 196

Strengths: Footwork to slide and adjust to the release. Plays with little hesitation or wasted steps. Stabs & grabs with excellent ball skills. 2nd gear to run down wideouts in recovery mode. Play strength to tilt 50/50 balls in his favor. Attacks blockers out on the flank. 

Weaknesses: Misjudges pursuit angles in the open field. Leaves feet instead of running through the tackle. Struggles staying in-phase from man coverage. Cooked by double moves. Route anticipation is very average. Too many missed tackles after the catch. 

Score: 6.18 (A good backup with the potential to develop as a starter) Next Gen: 69 (Average)

Alontae Taylor CB (Tennessee) 6'0" 199

Combine: 4.36s 40, 34.5"vert

Strengths: Punch from press is forceful and aggressive. Captures & crowds outside release against the sideline. Responsive to passer's eyes and movements from zone. Talented gunner on Special Teams.

Weaknesses: Labored hip corrections when juked by press release. Very average recovery quickness in space. Limited burst to close allows pitch-and-catch from off-man. Can be delayed in read & reaction to run plays. Needs to shed blocks & wrap up the runner.

Score: 6.17 (A good backup with the potential to develop as a starter)

Kaiir Elam CB (Florida) 6'1 1/2 " 191










2021: 29tckls, 1INT, 5PDs

Combine: 4.39s 40

Strengths: Patient feet rarely fall for release fakes. Able to swivel hips and pursue with fluidity. Squeezes deep sideline routes with physicality. Contested catches are typically tilted in his favor. Solid transition quickness to plant and drive on the throw.

Weaknesses: Loses his leverage unnecessarily. Needs better open-and-sprint timing when squatting underneath. Vertical specialists can overtake and stack him. Inconsistent digesting route combinations. Doesn't play to his size in run support duties. Inconsistent coming to balance as an open-field tackler.

Score: 6.38 (Will eventually be a plus starter) Next Gen: 83 (Good)

Comp: Jaylon Johnson




Daxton Hill S (Michigan) 6'0" 191

Combine: 4.38s 40, 33.5"vert

Strengths: Versatility for multiple coverages. Big kick to close & challenge off the hash. Slides feet to alter route leverage in man vs. slot. Disciplined to locate QB's eyes and find keys. Sees route development around him. Anticipates and pounces on route breaks. Quick trigger to close downhill from split safety. Talented to locate the ball-carrier in sideline-to-sideline pursuit.

Weaknesses: Could have ups & downs carrying vertical slot targets. Inconsistent recognition of rub routes. Needs to play with greater aggression in run support. Not as explosive as a tackler. Want to see more shuck in his hands taking on blocks.

Score: 6.33 (Will eventually be a plus starter) Next Gen: 88 (Good)
